Incorporating VELS into school Intranets
Fri, Feb 3 2006
Beginning in 2006, the Victorian Government is implementing a new type of school reports, which will be consistent from prep through to year 10. These new reports are based on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS), and will require comprehensive software to administer and report to the new standards.
For this reason, IVT has begun development of a VELS edition for the Jade School Intranet. Previous versions of the Intranet already incorporated student and teacher timetables, along with roll marking and asset management. With the inclusion of VELS support, a timetabled class can be associated with domains and dimensions as specified by the learning standards, therefore allowing for marking of students to be made in direct relation to VELS.
The Jade School Intranet now also allows for the creation and
customisation of primary and secondary school reports, which follow standards set up by the Department of Education and Training.
